Microsoft has recently announced several updated features to further support SME’s using the Business Voice application and has set out plans to enable users to view meetings and calls in a separate window from the main Teams client.
Users will now be able to open and use a separate window from the main Teams client for meetings and calls. Controls for the meeting, for example, mute, chat video and leave will be positioned at the top of the meeting window to ensure they are permanently available and does not block the content beneath it. Other recently announced features including background customisation, 3×3 video and a raised hand notification.
From June, this will initially be set to OFF by default until users turn on the new experience by selecting the user setting General > Turn on new meetings and calling experiences. From July it is expected that experiences are enabled by default and users can then disable through settings.
Microsoft Business Voice is suitable for companies with up to 300 users and an existing Microsoft 365 plan. Its solution unifies calling, chat, calendar, emails, meetings and more in one communications stack. The solution, which has soared in popularity amongst remote workers, streamlines communications and productivity by using the Microsoft Teams application. Its impressive features include access to Microsoft’s AI for translating chat messages, transcribing voicemails and real-time captioning.
It also offers all the features of a full enterprise telephony solution, with the added benefit of being delivered by Microsoft’s secure cloud environment.
