Give A Grad A Go is a graduate recruitment, jobs and early-career talent community. Since 2009, they have helped over 4,000 candidates find graduate jobs at 800+ of the UK’s most exciting companies.
In March 2020 along with the rest of the country Give A Grad A Go took pivotal steps to adapt its business and set employees up to work remotely. As a business that is all about connecting people with one another, lockdown brought a new set of challenges for the team.
Give A Grad A Go were already using Microsoft Teams, which meant the move from office to remote working was straightforward. Teams enabled a relatively seamless transition and provided a familiar platform to conduct chats and video conferencing as normal, as well as remaining the ‘go-to’ collaboration tool for employees.
However, their current phone provider’s solution simply wasn’t up to the task. Give A Grad A Go’s team experienced technical difficulties, including a substandard smartphone app, which regularly crashed and even when support calls for assistance were placed to the incumbent provider, they went unanswered.
At the time of approaching M365Voice, Give A Grad A Go had lost confidence in their current VOIP telephony provider and had reverted to using mobile phones to stay in touch. It was clear this was not a long-term or sustainable option, nor did it meet the needs of the business.
As a team, Give A Grad A Go thrive in a dynamic workplace culture. Regular communication and collaboration is fundamental to operating successfully, so a reliable IT and communication infrastructure is essential. Aside from collaborating internally, the team is required to communicate and maintain relationships with both clients and candidates.
Since Give A Grad A Go were already using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Business Voice was the obvious choice for calls to the PSTN. As Microsoft Business Voice integrates neatly into the existing Microsoft Teams stack it would mean calls and communications were unified, so no switching between applications, on top of other features, including call transfer, multi-level auto attendants, hold music, call waiting and call queues.
It would also mean users could call, transfer and receive calls as normal and the Give A Grad A Go staff would be able to keep their existing main and DDI numbers. And finally, Microsoft Business Voice offers a reliable, enterprise grade, secure calling experience on any device – which was essential given this failed with Give A Grad A Go’s previous telephone supplier.
Within two weeks of agreeing to Microsoft Business Voice, M365Voice had taken the steps to migrate Give A Grad A Go and configure the setup to suit their requirements. They also decided to use the mobile device app, existing headsets and bluetooth devices to connect to the teams app meaning no additional hardware spend was needed to get started.
We contacted Microsoft Partner M365Voice to see if they could offer a solution to meet our needs. They recommended a migration to Microsoft Business Voice which is based around the Microsoft Teams client we were already using for chat and video conferencing. The migration was quick and hassle free – M365Voice handled our number ports and the configuration of all of the menus and prompts. The dial pad just appeared in our Teams client on desktop and mobile.
